Wreath

While I was at home, with "nothing" to do, I started making wreaths, out of an old Baptist Hymnal.  I made a large one for a friend, had some pages left over, so I made a smaller one for us. I still had pages left over.  I ended up making 3 small ones, each had a different type of center. The small ones I made on leftover CD's, it worked perfect, the circle in the middle made a perfect stopping point, for the center.  I might have to go Hymnal shopping at the used bookstores or at thrift shops.  If you have one you don't want anymore, I could try it for an all ready made wreath!  I am thinking of other things to do with the left over pages (covering a candle, adding to handmade cards, bookmarks, etc.)
Any suggestions?

Split photo

I have been playing around with MDS2 and splitting my photos.  I used to do this by hand. Take a photo and cut them into strips and then glue them back together again, just spacing them a part just a little.  This way with MDS2 is so much easier and faster.

Valentine Day Toppers or Cards

Today, I have made for you, (sounds like a cooking show) some Valentine Day Topper or they could be used for cards, or note cards. I just free hand cut them out and when needed used a marker to "touch up" the edges. My kindergarten cutting days are over. (but never was in kindergarten). Once again I made these with my MDS program. You guys need to get this program it is really a lot of fun.

a couple of MDS cards

The top one is a note card, or can be scrap paper, memo paper, etc.
The bottom one I made the BLING myself. I thought it turned out well.
I love the MDS program, why don't you get one and try it out too, we could trade cards online.

This card was made for a friend who has just gone through a very difficult time.

I wanted to express that she is special just like a butterfly.

I drew the design myself with colored pencils and a black Micron archival ink pen. The flower is a punch that I colored by tapping a color box ink pad using a black ink pen I drew the dots around the edge and the spiral in the center. It was attached with a brad. The added sparkle is from Hologram glitter

Happy Birthday MDS card

I am really loving this new paper design for My Digital Studio... thinking of lots of ways to use it. I am thinking of making a set of all of these cards to give to family and friends, they make a great gift. I will try other paper and layout, too.

More My Digital Studio Cards

Hello all;

Today I was playing around again with My Digital Studio and watched a video on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lqEotd0RlA ) that Patty from www.pattystamps.com made of how to make cards using MDS. So I just had to try it. The only thing I did different was to add a mat to the card so that when attached them to a card front or just print them directly as a card they would already be matted in a matching color. Oh they look so good matted, it just needed that extra touch. Thank you Patty for teaching us all how to use the MDS. I am so glad that my sister told me how to use youtube....lol. Let me know if you have any questions.

see ya,

Dolly

Iris folding cards

Here is another sample of the cards I made using the Iris fold and painting. I also used the computer to make the cards by saving them to a jpeg and printing them on the cards. Now I have used My Digital Studio to make a scrapbook page out of them and saved as a peg file so that they can be shared. I am learning how to make a digital photo album. This has been a lot of fun learning how do all these things. The love of painting, making cards, computer, etc. all combined together to make craft projects. Just haven't figured out a way to combine knitting into all of this.......... hmm will have to think on that one a little more........ If you have a tip or how toos let me know... I am always trying to learn something new.
See Ya,
Dolly

Christmas in July

This is a card I made on My Digital Studio last December, it was one of the first things that I made. I made it into our Christmas card and added diamond dust to it for some sparkle. It has been my dream to see snow at Christmas time but it has never happened... guess it won't unless we take a trip north. I have seen and been in snow when I have visited my sister, so I am thankful of that, and that I didn't have to drive in it.... have a good 4th of July and start making your Christmas wish list.

Take care,

Dolly

Simple Card 6/8/10

This really is a simple card to make even if you don't have all the tools I used. I am listing the basic items I used but you can use anything you like. It's the idea I pass along.

white card stock
brown fine line ink pen
markers peach, yellow, salmon, sage, lime green
cuttle bug and embossing folder
gold wire
crystals
green glitter glue
plane premade notecard
glue dots
glue tape

1. Emboss the front of the card with whatever ebossing folder you like or have.
2. Hand draw the outline of the flower and leaves with brown ink pen on whire card stock.
3. Color the the flower however you like. I like to shade and use multiple colors. Cut out the flower.
4. Glue crystal in center.
5. Cut 4 small holes 2 on oposite sides of the center useing a piecering tool or large needle. Cut 2 - 2" of gold wire, fold in half. Poke each end of the wire through a separte hole. After pulling the wire through the holes being very careful not to tear the paper, curl the ends of the wire.
6. Tear a strip of white card stock, using glue tape on the back place near the bottom of the card and cut the ends off to match the card.
7. Hand write or stamp in brown ink Thank You.
8. Attach the flower with a pop up glue dot.

(If you don't think you can draw a flower you can. Look at any stamp or colorbook outline of a flower and use it for basic inspiration, yours will be unique. Or have any child do it for you and you can't go wrong)

MDS Card

MDS (My Digital Studio from Stampin Up) Card
I just had to have this program, so I got it (last October)...
My sister and I made a couple of wedding cards with it in April. I just love it. I have taken a few lessons on line from Stamp with Heather (see the link on the right). It is a great way to combine digital and paper into a great card. Not that I want to go into the card making business but if you need a card made, just let me know and we can see what we can work out.
Off now in the search of how to make my own GLUE DOTS.... why, you ask... because you can....
take care,
Dolly
